This blog was started with the purpose to give updates on the Jode. When we started it, we weren't sure of the CT scan results but felt it was a good way to direct people to get information. The Jode is doing so well! She is off her narcotics and just taking ibuprofen for the pain. She is eating, and talking and doing more than she thought she could at this point. Both her and Bruce are shocked at how well she is doing especially compared to the picture the doctor painted for them. We are all sure all of your thoughts and prayers have helped aid in this quick recovery. 

The Jode really is on a fast track to a full recovery. This week has been a trying one for both Bruce and her with thoughts and questions of the unknown staring them at the face. They are so grateful to all of you for all of your love and support. As Bruce put it, their house looks like a florist shop. 

For now, this blog has served its purpose. We are grateful we are not having to keep it going with other news related to this scare. Adieu.

The Jode had a good night. She slept well and her pain is well controlled. Linda is staying with her today. Her only complaint is that she feels dizzy from her pain medication. We are hoping this is an important, promising turning point in this journey!

The Jode has made it home after a few hours in the recovery room. She has been dizzy and has had a little bit of nausea. She was able to keep some pudding down with her pain medication. The doctor felt like she was good to go. She is in good hands with both Bruce and Linda taking care of her. Hopefully she can get some rest and keep up on her pain medications.

She is out of surgery. Bruce has not been back to see her yet. As per Doctor, all went perfectly as planned. It was T1 (tumor size), he cleared around the sore until all margins were clear. The Jode is checked in at the hospital, waiting for surgery. She of course, has a book in hand. Always reading, that Jode! The official start time is 3:00 pm, so she has some time to waste. But more than anything, she could use all of our good vibes sent her way!

The Jode is scheduled for surgery tomorrow at 3:00. We will update this blog as we hear how the surgery went and with updates on her recovery. To help aid in her recovery, The Jode has asked that you not text her for now because she knows she won't feel up to answering those text. And since we all know the Jode so well, it will drive her crazy to not be able to respond. She truly is grateful for all the love and support you have already shown her! Thanks for understanding at this time. We are praying that all goes well.

The results of the CT Scan came back today and it showed none of the cancer had spread into the Jode's lymph nodes or neck. What a relief for all of us! The plan is to move forward with surgery on Thursday. We don't have a time yet, but she was told it will be outpatient. The doctor told her she would be in extreme pain and basically hate him for about 2 weeks. We are so grateful for this great news and hope the surgery goes well for her.
